One thing I’ve come to realize about CrossFit is that it takes a lot of different kinds of gear! I have found myself in so many situations where I wished I had this or that to make my WOD better, easier, or less painful. So, I finally got organized and planned for any situation I could think of when it comes to CrossFit.
Here’s my What’s in a Gym Bag list:
It starts with a great gym bag and I found this one at Athleta. I absolutely love it because of the compartments and it’s the perfect size.
Then there’s all the CrossFit skills that require little accessories-
To help with pull-ups and general grip issues I have come to love Natural Grips for my hands
And wraps for my wrists when doing overhead work and front rack movements~
And long socks for deadlifts, rope climbs and box jumps~
And different kinds of head gear depending on the work being done. I’m generally a ball cap girl, but that doesn’t work for overhead stuff like push press, snatches, thrusters, and overhead squats. So we discovered Bolder Bands and they have quickly become our favorite thing to wear!
And the right shoes~
All of this doesn’t even include wearing the right thing for WOD, but we will discuss that another time! All of this stuff, plus a few more trinkets, make up the contents of my gym bag. This way I’m ready for any WOD, anytime!
Oops, almost forgot the weight lifting belt! Never thought I’d wear one of these, but it’s great for heavy lifting and when your core starts to get tired.
